World War II soldier laid to rest in New York after 83 years missing in action

It’s been 83 years since John Pagliuso was killed in action sometime around Oct. 5, 1942, during a bombing mission over Papua New Guinea. Pagliuso was assigned to the 405th Bombardment Squadron, 38th Bombardment Group, during World War II. He was brought home and laid to rest in Old Elmwood Cemetery in Lyons, New York, on Friday.
